I know that I have mentioned before how important giving blood is, but I thought that I would take another minute to remind you all. It's quick and easy, and fairly painless. It's something that you really can do to help someone in this crazy world of ours.
Since my post, I have given as often as I can (I think it's every 6 weeks), and today is my next appointment. A time or two ago, I got a call from the center where I give, and they told me that I had been matched with a baby in Petaluma with a rare blood disorder. They asked me if I could commit to coming in regularly for a year so that they could minimize the baby's exposure by only giving her my blood. How cool is that?
How to donate:
1) Go to the American Red Cross site to find out where to give.
2) In San Francisco, make an appointment at a Blood Center of the Pacific site. You can make the appointment online, and the locations are convenient - one on Masonic at Turk, and one downtown.
