New Blog Look?
I'm thinking it's time to retire the beets theme of this site. If you want to have a say in my next blog theme, check out my sample banner possibilities and comment on flickr. The banner look & feel may change a bit as I set in the type, but I'd be interested to hear what theme you like best.
And remember, I'm not as creative about changing my banner as Cookie or Dooce. I've had this look for about 1.5 years, I believe, so whatever you choose is most likely going to stick for a while.
I love the texture of the cauliflower one. Also the microgreens!

I agree with Stephanie, the cauliflower is so pretty (and wonderfully girly, no?). Is it possible to have the text over the fuzzy part? (can you flip photos in digital? Is that a dumb question?).
I love the tomatillos as well, but it is perhaps too busy a photo to make for a good banner with text on top of it.
The tomatoes, cute as they are, remind me too much of the ELC logo--and you already got that up in the right column, no?

The lettuce and the carrots really pull me in. In particular I really like the light on the lettuce and the color palette of the carrots.

Cauliflower, lettuce, and apples are my favorites. And I like the wider ones best.

Limes seemed to be fuzzy or too out of focus...I liked apples and tomatillos. Apples might be season appropriate for fall and winter.

I'll take my current banner down whey they pry it out of my cold, dead hands... Er, when Nancy Pelosi does the right thing. But it's true, I was on a spree for a while. It was fun.

I love them all! (Except the limes. It seems a little sad.) You can put an opaque screen over teh whole image or just behind your title to make it show up.

I'm thinking if you do your banners seasonally the apples would be a great way to start.
If you just want one banner to get you through the next year and a half my vote is first for tomatillos, second for the apples and third for "carrots" not "carrot".
Can't wait to see what you choose.

Oh, hey. Received my Nikkor 70-300 VR zoom last week. It's fricken amazing, I can hand-hold it outside all the way out in daylight. Optics are supreme, kinda plasticky, but for the price? I didn't even blink.
